The below steps are for the "New Schoology experience" which changes the way users navigate around the Schoology site.

To set up Schoology to integrate with IL Classroom, IL Classroom must be created as a Developer Application on Schoology. To do so, please follow these steps.

Sign in to Schoology as a System Admin.
On the top navigation bar, click on the icon and then on “App Center.”
At the top of the screen, click on “My Developer Apps.”
1. Please contact Schoology support if you do not have access to the "My Developer Apps" screen on Schoology.
Click on “Add App.”
Fill out the form with this information.
1. App Name: IL Classroom
2. Description: IL Classroom LTI integration for abc.ilclassroom.com
3. Category: Select “Language Arts” and “Mathematics”
4. Level: Select “none”
5. Recommended for: Select “Instructors,” “Students,” and “Admins”
6. Available for: Select “Only people in my school”
7. Make app available to System Administrators only: Uncheck.
8. This app uses cookies: Uncheck.
9. Starting Price: Leave blank.
10. App Logo: https://ilclassroom.com/assets/favicons/favicon.ico
11. Feature Graphic: This is the same as App Logo.
12. Type of App: LTI 1.1 App
13. Launch App in Schoology: Checked
14. Can be installed for:
  1. Select “App Center Drop-down Menu.” This will make IL Classroom appear in the App drop-down menu, which will link to the IL Classroom home page.
  2. Select “Courses.” This will automatically enable the 4-course placements available for LTI integration. If you would like to disable any of the placements, uncheck them at this time.
    1. Left Navigation: A link to the home page of your IL Classroom Site will be available in the left navigation of all courses.
    2. Course Materials Selection: IL Classroom will appear as an option when adding materials to a course.
    3. Rich Text Editor: IL Classroom will appear as an option in Schoology’s rich text editor when adding pages.
    4. External Tool: IL Classroom will be an option when adding an external tool. This is the option you must use to enable gradebook passback.
  3. Select “Groups” if you would like to enable IL Classroom for groups.
15. Configuration Type: Leave as “Manual.”
16. Privacy: Leave as “Send Name and Email/Username of user who launches the tool.”
17. Domain URL: Enter the “LTI Launch URL” that was generated when you created the Schoology integration on IL Classroom at the beginning of this process.
18. Custom Parameters: Leave blank.
19. Require System Administrators to configure settings for this App: Check.
20. This application meets the Schoology Terms of Use: Check.
Click on "Submit."
Click on “Install LTI App.”
Click on “Add to Organization.”
Click on “Install/Remove” next to your IL Classroom integration.
To ensure that all users are able to benefit from the integration, check on “All Users,” “All Courses,” and “All Groups,” and then click on "Submit."
Click on “Configure” next to your IL Classroom integration.
In the “Consumer Key” field, enter the “App ID” that was generated when you created the Schoology integration on IL Classroom at the beginning of this process.
In the “Shared Secret” field, enter the “App Secret” that was generated when you created the Schoology integration on IL Classroom at the beginning of this process.
Click on "Save Settings."
