Two pathways are available: a traditional, 3-year pathway comprised of Grades 6, 7, and 8 courses, suitable for the majority of students; and a 2-year accelerated pathway that compresses three years of mathematics into the Accelerated Grade 6 and Accelerated Grade 7 courses, allowing students to begin high school mathematics in 8th grade.
Courses are organized into nine units each.
Each unit contains between 12 and 30 lesson plans.
Lessons are designed to fit within a 45-50 minute block. Pacing guidance for each activity is provided in lesson plans.
Lesson plans include student-facing slides and teaching notes to support facilitation. A digital projector is recommended for in-class instruction in order to fully utilize the lesson plans.
Materials are available in digital and print formats. It is recommended that students have workbooks or well-organized notebooks in order to capture their thinking and notes on in-class problems.
A Spanish version of the student-facing materials is available for the traditional, 3-year course.
