Before playing, students organize the cards into three piles, according to their backgrounds.
On each round, students draw from a different pile of cards:
- round 1, rectangles without a grid
- round 2, rectangles on a grid
- round 3, rectangles on a coordinate grid
One student secretly picks a shape card from the pile for that round and describes the shape to their partner, who draws it based on the description.
They earn two points if their rectangle matches the shape on their partner's card exactly and one point if it doesn’t match exactly but matches the clue given.
The partner with the highest score at the end of three rounds wins.
